Antique Persian rug smell nasty the question is why?
I have a beautiful oriental rug a Persian rug for more than 20 years, and I have two dogs that are never peed on my carpet suddenly anytime when I come to the living room, it’s smell terrible smell like a wet dog like an old rug, and the oriental rug is not so old what should I do?
Many customers call me and ask me this type of question I have I have two big dogs they never pee on the rug, however, now the carpet smell terrible why?
The rug laid on a floor such as wood floor, Coral floor, marble, Mexican tile that’s absorbed moisture.
The dog lay on the rug to lick himself.
You spelled something the long time ago, and you don’t pay attention to its moisture that is in the rug.
Standing on the rug with the socks when you are sweating all of this, one can cause moisture in the carpet and plus the dust then it’s in the rug will lead of growing bacteria this will lead to a bad smell this smell it’s tough to be removed.
So how can you avoid something like this?
Once a year take the rug to the driveway on a sunny day, spray the carpet heavily with straight vinegar and brush it one way,
let the rug baked in the Sun for 2 to 3 hours and then put it in this will kill any bacteria that grow on the rug because bacteria don’t like the sun install good padding under the rug this is a barrier between the wet floor or gold floor to your Oriental
