Not very common in homes but in bigger buildings you must have walked through long corridor or passage. May be in college or some public place. A very long corridor which takes you far in to the building.
This is corridor effect! And this the design rule we are going to understand.
This is another design rule to trick your brain.
If you have a room which is not very deep, doesn’t have much length. You can simulate corridor effect.
Paint side walls dark. This will take center wall far away from your eyes.
You know wall has not moved, but it creates a feeling that it has gone away from you. This will allow your room to appear with more depth.
This effect is exactly opposite of making center wall dark & bringing it close.
Strong colour on side walls makes room thinner and makes it appear longer.
Gives corridor effect.
