Making a Simple Summer Dress / The “Doodles” Dress

I know everyone is all about Autumn now, but it’s 90 degrees where I live and summer dresses are still very much appropriate! Ecspecially cute ones covered in animals.

Circle Skirt Tutorial:

The fabric is from Jo-anns, and is part of the Doodles apparel collection. But it doesn’t seem to be listed online yet, so I can’t link to it. I used two and a quarter yards of it for this project.

I mentioned that I would change some things if I made this dress again. Those changes include making the straps an inch or two shorter so the neckline is higher, and mounting the waist ties further back rather than in the side seam, since they cause bunching at the top of the seam which isn’t very flattering!
