Aerial Yoga Core Conditioning Exercises for Home/Studio Practice: Dog & Skateboard!

Wendi Lynch of Aerial Yoga Hawaii teaches you an upper body and core exersice you can practice to increase your strength and control in Aerial Yoga or aerial dance.You can do this exercise at home or in the studio since it is done on the floor rather than in the hammock.

The exercise is called Dog & Skateboard and uses a piece of fabric to slide yourself across the floor in plank position, Wendi demonstrates a 3 part progression so you can modify the position to your current ability. Regularly practicing Dog & Skateboard will strengthen your core and bring fluidity and greater ease to your Aerial Yoga practice.

Wendi Lynch is an E-RYT200, Unnata Aerial certified yoga instructor and Leva Aerial Yoga teacher trainer in Kauai, Hawaii: she has been a devoted student of yoga since 2002. Wendi’s teaching is strongly informed by her bodywork; she is a NCTMB and Hawaii state licensed massage therapist.She teaches monthly workshops and Aerial Yoga teacher trainings at the Still & Moving Center in Honolulu where this video was filmed.
